Jubilee!

We may not be able to be together in person on Sunday but let us join together, as a community with Fr Michael and Fr Peter, to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi and to celebrate Fr Michael’s Golden Jubilee of Priesthood. An announcement from Government over the weekend allows for the re-opening of Places of Worship across the country. This has been welcomed by the Bishops Conference of England & Wales, amongst others. It applies to all Faiths and Denominations. The announcement allows for the re-opening of Places of Worship from Monday 15th June. Whilst the headline is straightforward, the reality is more intricate. As the Parish is aware, next Sunday 14th June is Golden Jubilee day for Fr Michael. 14th June 1970 saw his Ordination to the Priesthood, along with 35 fellow Missionary Priests, at All Hallows College, Dublin. Understandably, the current Public Health situation means that the parish celebrations planned for the weekend 12-14 June to mark this occasion, cannot go ahead.
