re-opening of Churches – update 6: arrangements for attending Mass

posted in: News, Parish, Uncategorized | 0

Our church will re-open for public Mass on Saturday evening 4th July. The weekend Masses will be (as per the Parish newsletter) Sat 7pm; Sun 10am; Sun 6.30pm. Please keep up to date with ongoing news by referring back to the website. Please also take a moment to refer back to earlier posts for further explanation.

Attendance at Mass will be by pre-booking only. Please do not just turn up unless you have booked a place at Mass. This is due to a limit on the numbers permissible in the church.

For booking a place please contact the Parish Office by email or telephone (contact details at the foot of the website) or by sending a text to 07932 141757. Available space will be on a first-come-first-served basis and a waiting list system will be in place. As indicated in our earlier post, we would like to know how many you are booking for; we will require a telephone number and it would also be useful for us to have an email address for you.

Social distancing will be set at 2m. We will ask you to please observe this as you arrive and leave
church. Attendance at Mass will be Stewarded to help us keep the environment safe and manageable for us all. Stewards will assist in arriving and leaving church and also at Communion. When you arrive, you may be asked to wait outside until invited in to take a seat. Please arrive in time to allow for this managed arrival to take place and for Mass to start on time.

If you are in the extremely clinically vulnerable (shielding) category, then please continue to
protect yourself by staying at home and praying for the parish community or accessing the LiveStream. As has been our practice, this will be Sun 10am Mass.

The Sunday obligation continues to be suspended, so if you are unsure about coming, do not feel under any obligation to attend. If you or someone in your household displays symptoms of Covid19, then please stay at home.

Further information will continue to be posted in the days ahead, including how the celebration of Mass will be varied.
